Here at Parry Joinery we take our Health and Safety obligations seriously and we are confident that we have suitably trained staff to deal with any First Aid emergencies in the work place. Our two nominated First Aiders, Foreman Wyn Jones and Bench Joiner Darren Williams have recently undertaken, respectively, a two day Refresher First Aid at Work and a three day First Aid at Work course. By nominating these personnel to become First Aiders in the Workplace we are also complying with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 on first aid at work training.
The course was designed to enable students to get help & give safe, prompt and effective First Aid to a casualty in the workplace following an injury or illness, using materials to hand and HSE approved first aid equipment. Our two First Aiders, following successful completion of the course and the assessment were awarded a 3 year Certificate of Competence, which is compliant with the Health & Safety Executive.
The course was provided by Jigsaw Medical at their training academy in Cheshire Oaks. Their courses are governed by an emergency ambulance governance team and include dynamic and realistic casualty situations which simulates scenarios that candidates might be faced with.
We are pleased that both nominated members of staff undertook the course successfully and we are confident that both will be able to deal with an Emergency First Aid situation at work with the most up to date training and certification.
